Short Description/Keyword: Clay human-effigy smoking pipe from the Pocahontas Site (22HI500), Hinds County, Mississippi. This specimen is an
effigy elbow pipe made of clay depicting a human figure in a squatting position with raised head. The clay was tempered with fine particles of mussel shell.
The pipe was recovered from the conical burial mound (Mound B) at Pocahontas by James A. Ford in the 1930s. See Ford's 1936 publication Analysis of Indian
