Fragment of female pillar figurine preserving head. Broken irregularly across upper neck. Face and hair framing face made in mold while back of head is added by hand. Face shape is round with low forhead, arched eyebrows, almond shaped eyes tilted slight up at outer corners and slight, delicate lower lid. Short, broad flaring nose. Horizontal mouth with fleshy lips with top larger than bottom. Low cap of hair arranged in four horizontal rows above forehead; hair covers ears with hint of horizontal banding. Edge of added clay behind hair on sides and top of head may be veil which rises to point on top of back of head. Traces of white slip and red paint on face, neck and in hair. Solid; dense. Late Iron Age. Head is solid with hole where plug attached molded head to body. Color: 2.5YR red 5/6. (Munsell code)

Earth and stone fill similar to that found in Areas I7, J8 (L. J8005), K7 and K8, possibly serving as preparation for a large building (now robbed out). Located 2.75 m. from the South balk and 2.00 m. from the East balk. At top levels 481.97 m., 481.61 m. below L. I8003 to bottom levels 481.61 m., 481.53 m. above Surface I8007. Fill I8006 also runs against the East side of Wall I8002/I8008 In the NE corner of the area, it was possibly interrupted by a pit which was detected only in section.

Moldmade. Ware Paste: Color--2.5YR red 5/6, Inclusions--few very small to medium organic, Firing--dark gray core, Hardness--hard. Trace of slip 10YR white 8/2; traces of paint 7.5R3/6 dark red. Iron II. Broken irregularly at upper neck. Horizontal rows for hair; almond shaped eyes. Solid - Single -Frontal mold. Mold entirely filled; distinct line seen on sides and top of head where clay was added by hand. Width of face w/- hair = 2.78; width of face w/ hair = 3.84; length of face w/- hair = 2.91; length of face w/ hair = 4.36; length of right eye = 0.97; width of right eye = 0.41; length of left eye = (too much slip); width of left eye = 0.37; width of nose at base = 0.81; length of mouth = 0.91; outer eye to outer eye ~ 2.32; outer right eye to corner of mouth = 1.45.
