Fragment of head and neck of schematic human figurine. Bulbous head mounted on elongated solid cylindrical neck. Enlarged beak-like nose protrudes from center of face and hooks downwards. Subtle circular mounds on upper side of head may be schematized eyes. On top of head a vertical crest with forward facing tip may represent headdress. Surface generously covered with white slip with sporadic traces of red paint. Iron II Age. Color: 2.5YR reddish brown 5/4 (Munsell code)

Destruction Debris consisting of mainly highly fired bricks (90%), some cobble-sized fieldstones and charred wood. Located 4 m. from the South balk and between ca. 2.20 m. and 5.5 m. from the East balk (into Area G8 up to the east face of Wall G8006) at top level 481.62 m. below debris G7002, debris G7004 to bottom level 481.17 m. above Surface G7018. The bricks are thoroughly burned and represent the collapse of the superstructure of the Iron Age building.

This debris represents the destruction phase of the pillared building in the northern part of Field IV. Restorable pottery was found within this collapsed brick debris, an indication of pottery and other materials having fallen from roof or second story.

Ware Paste: Color--2.5YR reddish brown 5/4. Inclusions--some small organics; few small sand; few small limestones. Firing--gark grey core. Hardness--hard. Exterior--same as paste, painted white 10YR white 8/1 with yellow paint traces 2.5Y yellow 7/6 and red paint traces 10R red 4/6. Broken horizontally through lower neck/body. Slight damage to tip of nose. Handmade. Completely handmade with facial features produced by subtle application of pressure from fingers. Beak-like nose formed by pulling clay of face forward and down. Mound of eyes formed by forward pulling of fingers to form nose. Headdress made by pulling top of head upwards and and forwards. Neck is simple clay roll. 8th c. B.C.
