Tell Halif, Field I, Stratum I, Locus 8001.

Locus 8001 is tell debris of yellow-brown soil, fairly compacted at places, containing large quantities of brick detritus, pebbles, cobbles and boulder sized stones along with evenly distributed sherds, ash, bones. Located over the entire area at top levels 484.OO m. (W), 483.38 m. (center), 482.92 m. (E) to bottom levels 482.57 m. (W), 482.45 m. (c), 482.37 m. (E) above walls 8005, 8011 and surfaces 8006; 8029. This locus slopes steeply down to the east and shows tip lines in the North and South balks. Includes 8002, 8003, 8004, which have been canceled.
