Ash deposit inside fortification wall line of Str. XV. Debris locus of destruction material consisting of alternating lenses of wind and water borne black ash and yellow to brown brick detritus. Destruction debris, consisting of alternating striations of ash and washed brick detritus. Destruction debris associated with the final use of the Str. XV tower and fortifi­cation. Color: black, dark gray, white, bands and lenses of brown and yellow-brown. Compacted heavily beneath later phase walls 8010/9049, 8018/9041; lightly compacted elsewhere. Contained large quantities of sherds, uniformly small, as if washed into this area.

Located between 1.40 m. and 8.40 m. from the Area 7 East balk (into Area 9, 8.40 m. wide), and 4.0 m. from the Area 9 North balk and 1.80 m. from Area 8 North balk to tower 8022. At top levels 481.80 m (SW), 481.22 m. (NW) (in Area 9, 9/8), 481.67 m , 481.08 m. (in Area 8) below 8018/9041, 8010/9040, 9045, 8032, 8034, and 7001 to bottom levels 480 69 m. (in Area 7), 479.74 m. (E), 478.57 m. (C), 478.54 m.(W) (in Area 8), 480.53 m. (S), 479.58 m. (c), 479.11 m. (N) (in Area 9, 9/8) above stairs 9050, wall 8047, surface 8046, wall 8043, and "guardroom" surface 7013. This ash was pitted by 8032 and 8034; surfaces 8040/9045, and 9049 were laid directly on the ash; walls 8018/9041, 8010/9040 were founded in the ash. In addition this ash lay against the faces of tower 8022, 8025, the faces of wall 8047, the western face of wall 8043, 7012/8045.
