Locus I8003: Summary
Area: I8
Stratum: I
Description:
Top soil, similar to L. I8001 in the Eastern half of the Area, with a concentration of pebble to boulder-sized stones in the East. It extends 5.00 m from the North balk, and 2.00 m from the East balk to and partially covering Wall I8002. At top levels 482.16 m. (E) and 481.89 m. (W) to bottom level 481.71 m. (N) above L. I8004 and (S)481.61 m. (S) above L. I8006. It lies partially above L. I8002 and I8010. It is possible that a pit was dug into its NE corner, but the possible pit was only discerned at the East balk line.
This locus has not been combined with other contemporary debris loci because of the richness of objects recovered in it.
